The Vertical fist Punch is an Isshinryu Original punch. The punch is launched from the chamber, at the obi, and thrust straight out from the hip. The Vertical punch places the thumb on top of the wrist. This creates strong alignment along the wrist for a more direct and impactful punch.

Isshinryu kicks all originate from the chamber. The leg is raised , with the knee lifted, foot tucked in. From this point, the legs and hips can execute any style kick in any direction.

All Isshinryu block rests in the same arm position regardless of the block. The arm is held an "Isshinryu-Fist" away from the body. The fist, elbow,
and shoulder are aligned. Open-hand and closed-hand blocks follow this positioning.
